Gemstone Collection Journal

Remember the material, the little details and where you put it. “Somewhere very safe” is a charming location until you need to find it.

Keep a collection, wishlist and care notebook in one place. Record up to 500 entries, revisit your notes and export a backup whenever you like.

Your journal lives in this browser.

It does not sync to your shop account or another device. Export a JSON backup to keep a separate copy or move your entries. Clearing browser data or closing a private-browsing session can remove saved records.

Keep a copy. Bring a copy back.

JSON keeps the full journal for re-import. CSV gives you a spreadsheet-friendly copy. Exports include every entry, including hidden or filtered entries and your private notes.

Import previews a merge. New record IDs are added; records already here are retained without being overwritten. Maximum 500 records and a 4MB import file.

Collection journal FAQ

Where are my entries saved?

In this browser for this website. This journal does not upload records or synchronize them to your customer account. Use a JSON backup to move them to another browser or device.

What if my browser cannot save?

You can keep working during the visit and export a JSON copy. The status message will tell you when a change is only available for the current visit. Export before leaving that page.

Does a check date tell me to wash the stone?

No. It is a date you chose to inspect or revisit an entry. Cleaning depends on the actual material, treatment, construction and condition. A calendar reminder is not a spa booking.

What should I record for an unknown material?

Keep the seller's label, description and document information in your notes. Use “Unknown / not listed” until you have suitable evidence. A memorable nickname does not have to become a mineral diagnosis.

Will an import replace existing records?

No. It adds record IDs that are not already present. Existing IDs are skipped, including edited versions of those entries. The preview reports additions and skipped records before you apply the merge.

Does recorded cost measure my collection's value?

No. It records what you entered as purchase cost. The summary groups costs by currency without exchange conversion; it is not an appraisal, resale forecast or investment score.
